Gaming - Mortal Gods first game
Oywn and I finally played out first game of Mortal Gods last weekend. We have both gotten our faction sets, him Sparta and I Athens. We played with the hoplites I've painted up but with the faction cards. We also each had three slingers that I painted for my EIR Roman army.

Painting - Mortal Gods Mercenary Hoplites - The white ones
This batch is 12 Warlord Games Hoplites (formerly Immortal miniatures I think), that I painted up for Owyn and I to play Mortal Gods from Footsore Miniatures. Owyn is currently studying ancient Greece and is fascinated by the Spartans and the mythology. We come from a family of historians, my parents are both published historians and history professors. The history bug has lain dormant in my boys up until this year. Rhys has become fascinated by WWII and now Owyn's new-found interest.

The astute among you may notice that there are 14 models below. The two command models were done separately and will be in another post. |

Welcome to 2020
It's been awhile. I've spent the last two years finishing the basement. I've done a lot of the work myself and we paid as we went, so it took a long time. The drawback to this is that all of my miniatures have been in storage for the last two years. I've done a lot of gaming but it has all been board or RPGs. Not bad, but not the stuff for this blog.

28mm EIR Command stands
This entry is some long awaited command figures for my EIR army. There are two command stands, which will finally let me play with an all painted army. There are also four command models to slot into my cohorts. I mis-counted at some point and had too many legionaries and not enough commanders.

28mm Velites from Victrix
This entry makes me somewhat ashamed. I had them done two weeks ago but didn't get the basing grass done. I had them done last week but didn't get them photographed. They are finally on the boards though.

Entry 5 - 7th Challenge - 32 28mm Celts
This entry was two weeks in the making. I started off strong but then had to go back to work and hobby time slowed to a crawl. These lads are another unit for my Celt army for Hail Caesar. As an aside, after the debacle of my last post I bought a tripod and a trigger for my camera. I can now take close in shots that are in focus. I still need to work on the lighting however.
First up is another warband for my army. This makes the third, so only another ten or twenty to go.

Early Imperial Roman Auxiliary Medium Infantry
This is my final post of the Challenge. Eighteen Early Imperial Roman Medium Auxiliary Infantry from Victrix. The savvy among you will recognize that Victrix doesn't make that set. These are actually their Republican armored infantry. I cut the feathers off of the helmets and used them as is from there.

Entry 2 for the AHPC. Twelve 28mm Celts
My second entry of the Challenge is 12 Celt warriors from Warlord Game. These are 28mm miniatures. The three heroes are metal, the rest from their Celtic Warriors plastic box set.

Entry 18 - 3 Wargames Factory Celt Chariots
This week's entry is three 28mm Celt chariots from Wargames Factory. This is the contents of a single box, so good value for money, but craptastic sculpts.

Entry 13 - Vth Analogue Painting Challenge - 28mm Celt Cavalry
This next entry is, surprisingly, more Celts. These are six 28mm Celt light cavalry from Wargames Factory. There are twelve cav in the box so I made six mediums and these lads lights with javelins.

Entry 12 - Vth Analogue Painting Challenge - 28mm Celts
Another entry of Celts. This starts off with ten more infantry. This gives me 31 infantry so far, which sounds great until I realize I need a couple of hundred of these guys to complete the army.

Entry 10 - Vth Analogue Painting Challenge - 11 28mm Celts (again)
This entry is another eleven Celt infantry for Hail Caesar. This group is armed with spears and mostly armored in chain mail. Now that I think of it, that doesn't really make sense as I would expect the armored warriors to have swords.

Entry 9 - Vth Analogue Painting Challenge - 11 28mm Celts
This next entry is the first troops for my Celt army. These guys are being painted up for Hail Caesar. They are individually based so they can be used for skirmish games as well.
