Hobby - Wargames Bingo - Another square

The only up-side to me painting the Rebel Speeder when I did is that I get to check off another box in the Hobby Bingo. In this case, I got the model and got it painted in 48 hours. That's probably a record for me, and this was a lot more model than I needed to check the box, but there you go.

Painting - Han Solo for Star Wars Legion

Here's Han Solo, from Fantasy Flight Games, for Star Wars Legion. He's one of the commanders for the Rebel army (duh) and also a very nice model.

Painting - Star Wars Legion Rebel Troopers

This is a unit for the Star Wars Legion game by Fantasy Flight. I've played a couple of small games, just learning the rules, and like what I've seen so far. I've loved Star Wars from the time the move came out - NOT a New Hope - it was called Star Wars. My father and I watched it, then walked out of the theater and stood in line to watch it again. I was five.

Final Post for the 7th Annual Analog Hobbies Painting Challenge

This is my last post for a week or so. The boys are on Spring Break and we are in sunny California, where it is not quite as nice as it is back in Colorado, oddly.

This post is all over the place as it's made up of stuff that I've been tinkering with since the challenge started.

Modified B-Wings

I love the X-Wing game.  I like the ships.  I like the game play.  I love that they boys like to play it.  This is a great game and I'm glad I tried it.  There are a lot of people out there modifying their ships.  To this point I've not done that but the B-Wing just begs for it.

Sci-Fi Monday - Battle Report - X-Wing

The other night I arrived for our Thursday night game and Tony was running Jonathan through an introductory game of X-Wing.  They both had bought starter sets, and I had brought mine with me.  After the intro game we decided to play a big game of X-Wing instead of the scheduled LotR.  100 points each side, and nine ships on the table later, we were ready to go.

The brave and scrappy Rebel line prepares for battle.

X-Wing Follow up

I've had X-Wing for a week now.  It has been a huge success.  Not only has Rhys been asking to play but Owyn has played a couple of games.  They both love the models and understand the mechanics.  They are a little hazy on the maneuvering part but they love rolling dice and moving their ships.  They smoked me in one game and much rejoicing, and dancing, ensued.

Rhys still wants to learn Lord of the Rings, but he is in love with X-Wing.

This one is definitely going in the Win column.

Star Wars X-Wing

This is not a game that I had any interest in playing.  I have not been looking forward to the release.  It has not been on my radar at all.  Lots of the guys were excited about it.  Not me.

A box of pure gaming fun.
Boy was I wrong ...
