VIIth annual Analogue Painting Challenge Prep
It's that time of the year again. Curt just announced the 7th Challenge and I have managed to get my name in the hat. I'm going for a lower point total this year since I'll be spending time building and running D&D two days a week. I've ante'd up 1000 points.
I've been sort of preparing for this for the last month. I've gone through my models and thought about what armies need some additions. I've bought some new lead and plastic, though that is certainly not necessary. I've considered whether entries will be applicable (where do Star Wars Armada Squadrons fall in. I don't know).
This last weekend I assembled over a hundred models, to add to the almost two hundred left over from prep for last year's Challenge. Some are new all together and others are additions for existing armies.
I've also put in some brush time on completing some partially painted models to clear off the paint table. Some of these have languished for years and need to join their armies to gather dust on a shelf. I've also, stupidly, painted some models that were un-touched and could have gone into the Challenge. I do what it takes to get the mojo flowing again.
This is always the high point of the year for my painting and I look forward to it immensely. There are some nice twists to the rules this year that I like. I'm very excited to participate and, most of all, to see what the other challengers come up with.
