Entry 1, Vth Annual Analogue Painting Challenge
This unit is six 28mm Romano-British levy from Gripping Beast. I bought the starter army for Dux Brit from Too Fat Lardies and it includes 18 of these guys. I had planned to paint the first six as my last entry in last year's challenge but ran out of time. I finished them up after it was over, and haven't painted a thing since then other than some of my son's 15mm Sci/Fi.

Romano British Levy
I've completed the first six models for my Romano British force for Dux Brit and Hail Caesar. These are Gripping Beast models, purchased from Too Fat Lardies. There were a lot of models in that purchase.

The next project
The year is rapidly drawing to an end. Much to my surprise, autumn is here. This is somewhat disconcerting as it means temperatures are dropping rapidly. It is much too cold to prime in the winter here so I need to get things prepped in the fall so that I have stuff to paint over the winter.
This realization has thrown me into a frenzy of assembly. In the last two weeks I've assembled 24 Auxiliary infantry for my EIR army. I've also just completed 49 Romano Brits for Dux Brit or HC. These were a late addition as I adjusted my plan back in July.

2012 In Review and 2013 Plans
How's that for an inspiring title. I love seeing what everyone else plans for the year, and how last year's plans panned out (or more often did not). Since a large part of my keeping this blog is to keep track of my hobby, I also look forward to seeing what the last year held for me.
This was the biggest accomplishment of the year. |

Dux Brit Player's Notes
TooFatLardies have released some player's notes for Dux Brit. They serve as a quick start explanation of the rules. They are useful enough that I would recommend having them available as you read through the rules. You can just glance over, "did I read that right?". "Yup."

Dux Brit arrives
Dux Britanniarum from TooFatLardies was released this last week. I'm still waiting for my hard copy and cards (and free miniature) but I was able to download the PDF and have a read through. Here's my initial thoughts.

Dux Britanniarum Pre-orders up
The latest game from TooFatLardies is finally up for pre-order. Dux Brit is a game covering the period following Rome's retreat from Britain and the invasion of the Saxons. It fits nicely in the period between Hail Caesar and Saga, for me. It also comes with a really slick sounding campaign system, which I'm hoping can be modified for other game systems.
