Gaming - A Song of Ice and Fire

We've recently been playing quite a few games of Cool Mini or Not's A Song of Ice and Fire miniatures game. The rules are easy to understand and they make for a very fast game. There's not a ton of tactical depth, to my eyes, but Rhys gets the rules and likes the game, so that's what really matters.

We've played three games so far this year. Two with Rhys and I and one, an intro game, with the Traveller. Both of them like the rules so we may get some more games in, which means I may paint some of the models.

This is not a rules review, but more just showing off the models. We have two of the starter box, since they were over half off at Christmas. That gives us two large armies for both Stark and Lannister. The models are bigger than 28mm and the bases are as well. They come with the movement trays, cards and tokens needed to play the game.

The models are very nice and will look grand when painted up. This is a traditional ranks and flanks game in a lot of ways and has casualty removal. Rhys wants a Night's Watch army, and that is a fully fleshed out faction, so that may happen down the road.
