Painting Challenge XI

Another entry done for the Analog Painting Challenge.  They are ticking off like clockwork.  As long as your clock is broken and only works when you remember to wind it.

Another squad of brave GIs ready to take on the Hun.

Here is the second squad for my 28mm WWII US GIs.  These are, again, the Warlord plastics.  I’m really enjoying painting these, enough that I might have to pick up some more GIs.  I free handed the rank and division insignia again.  They guy in the back, who appears to be running away, is actually just waiting for his shot in front of the camera.

The rank insignia really only came out right on the Cpl.  The Sgt is bad enough I decided not to let you see his arms.  He’s lurking in the back in shame.

Details of the pack and bayonet.

The packs are necessary on these figures.  They look quite odd; too skinny and hunched, without them.

The facial features are really nice on some of these models.

Some of these models have great facial features.  The definition, for plastic, is clear and gives them personality.  The set comes with a lot of heads so it is easy to switch things up so they don't all look the same.

The weapons of the kit are one of the selling points.

The weapons are separate in this kit.  It comes with a lot of options, but sometimes the separate weapons don't really look right.  I think these do fit well with the models.  The different rifles etc. are all easily recognizable with good detail.  There are certain arms that go with each one, so don't cut everything off the sprue and then try to assemble these.
