Gaming Table Part III

After several weeks of not touching it, I've gotten some more done on the table.  I have enough tiles to fill it, with some left over.  I've got four corner hills, one ridge, one alien landscape and one river.  I'll need more rivers but I want to make sure the first one works out before I use the time and materials for the rest.

The table with the textured paint on the tiles.

In the picture above you can see the river, which will be lined with spackle (polyfilla) then painted separately.  I have high hopes for the water, so I hope this works out.  There will be three sections that run from one side to the opposite.  I'll do a fourth section that takes a 90 degree turn.

The river section.
There are four corner hills.  I've built one ridge, to fit between them.  I have another ready to be cut, but again, I wanted to see how it looked before I put the time into a second one.  I think it will work well.

The two hills and ridge from the side.
The paint is a gallon cane of gray with sand in it that I got at Home Depot.  I paid full price for this can, but it works great for a textured basecoat for most of my projects.

Next step will be to get the "grass" glued down.  That will be followed by a coat of brown with dry brushes up to bone white.  I also want to do a couple of tiles as desert and some as water.  I may to water on the reverse of the flat tiles.  Hmmm.  So many options now.  It's almost game worthy.  I'm very excited.

    1. Thanks James. I can see it in my head. Now I just have to realize it on the table.
