15mm Sci/Fi drop ship

One of my Christmas presents was a dropship for use with 15mm.  This is more of a terrain piece than it is a playing piece.

The drop ship with the fuel/water/liquid storage tanks visible.

This model is supposed to ferry Mecha into orbit to fight in space.  That role doesn't interest me but as a tanker it will be great.  This can serve in scenarios are just as a piece of terrain on the table.

Side view.  There's supposed to be an aerial of some sort in that gap.
I left off the foot and hand holds for the mechs as well as the aerial that was supposed to go on the outside.  I want to rig up some different weapon options to slot into that spot.

Front view.
The model came with stickers.  I won't be using those at all.  This will get a quick and easy paint job, once the weather is warm enough for me to prime things.

Engines.
The model is a Ban-Dai model.  It went together well.  Rhys lost the directions but I was able to figure it out.  This is a cheap and easy addition to my 15mm collection and will be a nice change of pace in terms of painting.

  1. That's pretty cool. There's a lot of Bandai stuff in the local shops around here, sometimes ridiculously cheap ($2 a model kind of cheap) in the small scales, and mostly spaceship Yamato type things like this:

If any of this might interest you let me know and I'll see what I can fit in a box.

    1. There are some cool things there. I've heard of the series but have never seen it. The red thing on the bottom left looks like it might work for a drop ship. Do you know what it's called?

  2. Look forward to seeing it painted up and will make a nice piece for the table.

    1. Thanks Pat. I'm looking forward to working on it. Now I just need it to be warm enough to prime some models.

    1. This is one of the fun things with 15mm. Finding things like this to add to the collection.
